Prep Music

Bridge House has a strong and dynamic Music Department offering opportunities for group and individual participation.

A large number or our pupils offer themselves for individual instrumental lessons in piano, keyboard, flute, clarinet, saxophone, recorder, guitar (electric and acoustic), violin, drums and voice.

Team performances in ensembles exist in voice (Prep Choir), recorder ensembles, Prep String ensembles and various bands.

BH enters pupils to play external exams (ABRSM, Trinity Guildhall, Rockschool, UNISA), the Stellenbosch Kunswedstryd and the Paarl Valley Eisteddfod.

Musical evenings are organised on a regular basis where soloists, ensembles and choirs perform. Musicians have many platforms for performance both at school (SP Twilight concert, Evening of Voice, awards ceremonies) and beyond (Somerset College Inter-schools Orchestral Festival).

We stage productions with the intent of involving the whole Prep school from time to time.
