Music

Bridge House has a strong and dynamic Music Department offering opportunities for group and individual participation.

Tuition is offered in piano, keyboard, flute, clarinet, saxophone, recorder, guitar (electric and acoustic), violin, drums and voice as a subject or as an extra-mural activity.

Team performances in ensembles exist in voice (Born2Sing, vocal ensemble), Jazz Band, College String ensemble and various bands.

BH pupils have an excellent record at external exams (ABRSM, Trinity Guildhall, Rockschool, UNISA), the Stellenbosch Kunswedstryd and the Paarl Valley Eisteddfod.

Musicians have many platforms for performance both at school (Artscore, Evening of Voice, awards ceremonies) and beyond (Somerset College Inter-schools Orchestral Festival).
